Camping season in Kuwait runs from November to March, when desert nights get cold and windy. Use this checklist to pack once and forget nothing.
Shelter
- An insulated tent. Our hexagonal winter tent is 3.5 m wide, pops up fast and has a cotton layer for warmth.
- Heavy-duty stakes and guy ropes, because desert wind is strong: heavy-duty stakes and reflective guy ropes.
- A waterproof padded mat (2 × 2 m) for the tent floor.
Cooking and fire
- A windproof gas stove: 3-burner for small groups or 5-burner for families.
- A folding grill: Campingmoon MT-2 for 3 to 4 people, MT-3 for 4 to 5, or the heavy-duty MT-035.
- A fire stand for evening warmth: SOLO-303 mesh fire stand.
- A jet blower to start charcoal fast.
- Tea and coffee: the all-in-one tea box and an insulated flask.
Light and power
- A rechargeable headlamp for hands-free light.
- A solar LED lantern and a telescopic lamp stand.
Comfort
- A folding table and a storage box with a wooden top.
- A portable camping toilet or a travel shattaf with water container.
- An air pump for inflatable mattresses.
Safety tips
- Never use a gas stove, grill or charcoal inside a closed tent.
- Set up away from wadis in case of rain, and check the weather before you go.
- Carry extra gas, water and a first-aid kit.
